Events

CityCU puts on lots of different events, a few of which are detailed below.

Wednesday Main Meeting
We meet every Wednesday at 8pm as a City CU. We come together to hear God's Word explained to us by guest speakers, to praise God through song and to pray with one another. This also serves as a great chance to find out what else is happening during the week, and to encourage one another through fellowship. To find out when/where we are meeting check out the 'notices' page. If you have any other questions contact Dan.

Monday Night Small Groups
We meet on Mondays in our Small Groups which take part in Halls of Residences and other locations in town and right across the city. This is our chance to meet with other Christians who live in the same area, and to study the Bible together. This term we are looking at the book of James. These are also great opportunites for evangelism, reaching out to those who are in Halls and putting on events. Getting involved in a Small Group is a great way to get to know a core group of people really well and to encourage and pray for one another. To find out how you can get involved or where your nearest small group is, contact Ben on the 'contact us' page.

Action Groups
Actions Groups are fantastic opportunities for people who love Jesus to be equipped to go out onto our University campuses and speak to students about Jesus' life, death and resurrection and the implications it has on us. This great event starts with a time of prayer, Bible focus and training so we can help support one another. This is great particularly as talking about our faith can be hard and scary! We then go out in pairs and carry out student belief surveys that can often lead to great discussion.

Globe Café
Globe Café is a place for international students to come and make friends with other international students and students from this country. It is set in an informal relaxed setting and is useful to find out about the English culture and Liverpool. There is also a chance to look at the Bible and Christianity and to ask any questions you may have. For more information, contact James from our 'contact us' page.

ReFreshers
Refreshers is a very exciting outreach opportunity to go out and meet students where they are and stepping out in faith with the Gospel! We set up a stall outside the Student Unions in time for the finish of the main nights out. The vision is to serve the students who have just been out clubbing by giving them free bottles of water and hot drinks, with the intention of speaking to them about Jesus and Christianity. This is a great way to breakdown stereotypes and make contact with people who would never normally come into contact with the CU. Keep an eye on the 'notices' page or come along to the main meetings to find out when/where they are happening this term! Or for more info contact Jack on the 'contact us' page.

Lunch Bars
LunchBars are talks aimed at students that confront topical issues (e.g. 'Is God a delusion?', and 'Don't all religions lead to God?' from a Christian perspective. We hold them at Lunchtime in central student areas (Student Unions) and they consist of a short talk on a given topic, time of questions/responses, and a free lunch. These are a great opportunity to invite friends, who may be interested in Christianity or a controversial topic, to a place where they can hear the Gospel clearly explained! For info on upcoming lunchbars, check the notices page or email Dan on the contact page.

Mission Week
This is an entire week of events (kick-started by a ball) put on by CityCU once a year to reach out to every student in Liverpool and give them the opportunity to hear the Gospel, ask any questions and hopefully clear up any misconceptions they may have about Jesus/Christians! This is a great time of really focussed evangelism, and a great chance to support and encourage one another.
