Dear All,
Our Vision as a CU: Step Forward; Step out;- training and equipping a united mission team, actively seeking to reach every student in Liverpool with the Gospel, for the glory of God.
Eph 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
We as a CU are a mission team, with the sole purpose of reaching the lost. Let us bring those people before Him in prayer, because it will not be by any strength of our own that they will be saved!
Phil4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God
Phil4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
Keep praying for the lost, be specific and lay your requests before the Living God!
Monday
Pray for your coursemates/housemates/uni mates that still do not know God. Pray for doors of opportunity to open to explain the Gospel (Col4:3) and that it be received by an open heart. Pray for the harvest- we so often put limitations on our God, but He can be immeasurably more than we could ever imagine- so PRAY BIG!
Tuesday
Exams- pray that despite the stress and strain exams bring, that we can keep our eyes set on the eternal hope that we have and that we do all things, even our work to worship to Him.
Wednesday
Praise God for all He has done this year. So many people have heard the Gospel through CU members, with many seeds sown and some saved! Pray that we continue to bring all things before Him in prayer as a CU and that we are intent on going on His strength and not our own!
Thursday
Today is the last bible study for this year in Globe cafe. Pray that the Gospel message is clearly explained and that God would challenge the hearts of those present. Praise God for the amazing things He has done through Globe this year and the relationships formed!
Friday
Freshers week- pray that all the planning for fresher weeks in all the uni’s goes smoothly and we can be united as a CU in reaching the students of Liverpool ’08. (CU events start 12th Sept, we need as many hands as possible, so put the date in your diary!)
Saturday
Pray for the Globe cafe social, that the international students can be challenged on their beliefs and that God would be with them when they return to their home countries over summer. Especially as some face potential persecution for even going to a bible study!
Sunday
Pray for the CU football team, praise God that we have so many committed non-Christian’s in the team. Pray that through those friendships that the Gospel can be told and lives can be saved!
Keep praying! As J. Sidlow Baxter said, “Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons; but they are helpless against our prayers”- whether you pray for 10 seconds or 5 hours God’s listening!
